WHY THEY APPROACHED US
Nile is a fast-growing AgriTech company transforming how fresh produce is bought and sold. Their app connects farmers directly to local and global buyers, with transparent pricing and fast payments.
With rapid growth, new features and multiple marketplaces being added, the app needed a more cohesive experience. Nile wanted a cleaner, faster, interface that could grow with their business. Upgrades that made it easier for users to navigate, find what they need, and complete key tasks across both mobile and desktop.
To support this next phase, they needed to bring simplicity and structure back into the platform, without losing the powerful tools that made it so valuable.
“Touchfoundry joined the Nile team seamlessly integrating into our processes and workflows with ease. They contributed many invaluable projects touching key areas of our business including redesigning the core interfaces of our marketplace and working on new corporate landing pages.”

WHAT WE DID
The overarching goal was to reduce the amount of steps and clicks (and taps) it takes to complete tasks, remove confusion caused by crowded dashboards not optimised for mobile, and make the platform feel intuitive, easy to use and responsive.
We redesigned key features, including the pricing dashboard, that functioned well on desktop, but required smart design choices to condense features to be optimal for mobile, without reducing its core functions. We restructured how users move through the app, and simplified the overall flow between marketplaces and managing orders.
We also laid the foundation for future growth by designing a platform built to support additional marketplaces, increased user volume, and ongoing enhancements by Nile’s development team. This meant creating flexible designs that can scale along with Nile’s future business needs.
Throughout the design process we collaborated closely with Nile’s internal development team to align with their release cycles. Ensuring smoother handovers and implementation.

WHAT WE FOCUSED ON
• Easier navigation and simpler user journeys designed to work well for different types of users.
• Mobile-first design that makes it easy to complete tasks and view dashboards quickly, even on small screens.
• Built to grow, with a design system that can handle more users, more marketplaces, and future updates.
• UX design that improved speed and ease of use by applying UX heuristics and best practices to simplify complex dashboards and prioritise functional design over unnecessary visual noise.
• Grounded in user research, we designed for real-world constraints fewer clicks and quick navigation
